Gone are the days of relying solely on relative humidity and temperature. The H1 calculates the real Moisture Cigar Content (HMC2), ensuring superior preservation and tasting of your cigars.
H1 is equipped with specialized sensors within a thin needle designed to analyze the heart of the cigar.
H1 provides tailored recommendations to optimize the preservation and tasting of your cigars.
Equipped with its humidor cap inside the humidor, the H1 calculates and indicates the relative humidity (RH) level needed to achieve the desired HMC2 level (one, two, or three leaves) for the actual temperature inside the humidor.
• Without changing the current temperature, what is the relative humidity to respect the 70/70 rule?
• Without changing the current temperature, how much relative humidity is needed to bring the cigar’s moisture up to the maximum admissible level?
H1 allows you to test the preservation quality of each cigar in your humidor. Compare them to make better choices and adjust your humidor’s settings as needed.
H1 ensures that the cigar you are about to enjoy is maintained at the optimal moisture level for the best flavor and enjoyment.

Cigars have their own water interaction mechanism: they are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb water from the air into their leaves through a unique physicochemical process, much like a sponge.
Hulecos has tested various mathematical models to determine the water concentration in cigars and has established the optimal model, the Hulecos Cigar Moisture Content (HMC2).
Regardless of temperature and relative humidity, the HMC2 simply expresses the true preservation state of your cigars.
The temperature plays an important role, and is always combined with relative humidity to define the moisture content of cigar leaves. Furthermore, temperatures in excess of 24°C can lead to the development of ladybug eggs, which can have a devastating effect on your cigars.
The Hulecos Moisture Cigar Content calculates the EMC (Equilibrium Moisture Content) of the cigar. The EMC represents the water content that cigar leaves achieve when in equilibrium with the humidity of the surrounding air at a given temperature. The recommended EMC for cigars is typically between 12% and 15%, indicating that there are 12 to 15 grams of water for every 100 grams of cigar leaves.
Relative humidity measures the pressure of water vapor in relation to its saturation point. A relative humidity level of 70% indicates that the air contains 70% of the maximum amount of moisture it can hold before condensation occurs, while 100% relative humidity signifies that condensation (liquid water) has formed. The relative humidity of the air is one of the key parameters influencing the humidity of cigars and has historically been the most recognized factor for cigar preservation, even though it is not sufficient on its own to determine the moisture of cigars.
